Lifted Restriction Confirmed by ENPO President
Sources said that after a lengthy meeting on November 22, the decision was made to allow ENPO members to actively take part in the festival scheduled from December 1 to 10. ENPO President Tsapikiu Sangtam, when contacted, confirmed the decision, stating that the meeting at Tsithrongse village, Chümoukedima, resulted in the lifting of the restriction. President Sangtam, without delving into specifics, indicated that the house’s decision signals a green light for federating tribal units to participate. “Those who wish to participate, they may do so,” Sangtam added, reflecting a more inclusive stance.

This positive development follows a series of meetings between ENPO and ENLU, prompted by ENPO’s initial announcement of abstaining from the festival, officially known as the ‘Festival of Festivals.’ The core issues addressed during these discussions included the challenges faced by members in previous editions of the festival and the demand for a separate administration.
