NSCN (KYA) Member Apprehended in Tinsukia: Chinese-Made Rifle and Multiple SIM Cards Seized

In a significant operation led by the 23 Assam Rifles (AR), an NSCN area commander, identified as Ram Pradhan, also known as Ram Newar, was apprehended after a confrontation with the Assam Rifles on November 11 in Borgolai, Tinsukia.

The operation resulted in the recovery of a Chinese-made rifle, multiple SIM cards, and various incriminating documents by the Assam Rifles personnel. Reports suggest that the captured NSCN Commander was allegedly engaged in diverse criminal activities, including extortion of funds across several areas such as Ledo, Borgolai, Lekhapani, Bomgarha, Tipong Lalpahar, and Paharpur.

The detained militant has been handed over to the Lekhapani police by the Assam Rifles. The police are actively conducting an interrogation to extract further information from the apprehended individual.
